Passing Through The Valley of Baca

Spread the love

“Baca” came in my tongues several times during the intense trial I’ve been going through with severe back pain. I know that many of you who read this are passing through the Valley of Baca as well, and it is my prayer that what the Lord has revealed to me will encourage and strengthen you.

“BLESSED is the man whose strength is in you; and whose heart are the ways of them

Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also fills the pools.

They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appears before God.” Psalm 84: 5-7

The valley of Baca is the place where we are changed and where sorrows can be turned into blessings. I believe all who are of Zion must pass through this valley in order to fulfill their destiny of being the ones for whom the whole world is waiting- even the manifested sons of God.

Baca has been translated as “weeping” and the rendering of it in the the Targum is “Gehenna” -the place where dead bodies were cremated as well as rubbish. I see this as a type and shadow of everything in us and finally the whole beast nature burned to ashes through the means of suffering.

I heard the word: “daystar ember” in my spirit: The etymology of ember is “small live coal”…. “ashes”….”to burn”…. “hot ashes”…. “FIRE”.

I think of Job repenting in dust and ashes and likewise, we also must come to the end of ourselves just as Job did and become ashes in order for the daystar to rise in us. It is in the valley of Baca where we come to the place of no longer speaking our own words- where a live coal can be placed on our lips to remove our uncleanness.

Isaiah 4: 3-6: “And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remains in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:

When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst of thereof by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning.

And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for upon all the glory shall be a defense.

And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.”

Indeed, weeping and lamentation occur in the valley of Baca, but oh what fruit comes forth in this place of burning and judgment.

Baca is also called the valley of the mulberry trees or balsam trees. Ah- How much processing it takes (FIRE removing the thoughts and ways that are not like His) before we inquire of the Lord to know and to do His will. How long before we wait to hear the sound of something moving in the tops of the mulberry trees (the sound of the Lord of Hosts moving) instead of our rushing out and doing what we think is right to do?

Psalm 19: 12,13: “….cleanse me from secret faults.

Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me; then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.”
