When you have someone close to you, if you’re like me, you want him or her to understand you. Hah! I forget that only God understands us. Sometimes we don’t even understand ourselves, but deeply ingrained in me is the desire to be understood,…. and it got me into trouble recently. Thankfully, the Lord has the power to resurrect roosters as lambs.

This morning, the Lord put the word “holy temperance” in my mind, and with it came conviction aimed at that flesh of mine which acted up yesterday like a fighting gamecock with a pecking disorder. Yep! That was me! 

My friend, who is getting healed from my pecks (thankfully not to the death,) is a dear, dear sister in Christ, full of God’s Word and a lot of love. She is more like a mother hen, than a rooster, or there would have been two that have had to have been raised from the dead, not just one.

Monica (not her real name) has one quality that offends me (Sigh!) and this time, when it did, “holy temperance” went out the window of blessing, and “cock-a-doo-doo” came in. I know, I know: I’m not supposed to get offended, but alas, offense snuck up on me like a stalker upon a victim. If you who read my blog still get offended sometimes and act up like I did, let’s believe for our victory now. Instead of the stinking odor of “doo-doo,” we’ll be emitting the “fragrance of Christ” because God promises that He shall perfect what concerns us. Our flesh is nothing but the fodder for the fire that’ll bring Him glory, eh? and one of these days soon, flesh will be no more. Hallelujah!

Now back to my story: Monica, who fended off this rooster in a calm and loving spirit, has the habit of interrupting me. Sigh! Due to this, her wrong conclusions have been like “whoo whoo” blasts of a locomotive going full speed, and they have driven me “loco.” However, I am decreeing that I shall hitherto no longer be going “loco”…. I shall be shouting: “Ho ho!” instead. 

I just listened to a podcast that had a train of thought in it that has me riding on the track of flesh-overcoming power now. Its message is like a rocket-ship headed toward “Holy of Holies Life in the Spirit” that will bring me full blast into the Kingdom and you, too, if we apply it.
