How many of us have put our foot in our mouths because we had been thinking from our carnal mind, not from the mind of Christ? There have been times in my life that I not only had a foot in my mouth, I had it in somebody else’s, too, but thank God, I’ve got a lion’s tail in mine now. I smile as I write this because I had an uncle who was called “Foot” and there’s a memory of him I shall never forget. My younger cousins Frankie and Genie were little rascals and it was at a family gathering that they did something that caused Uncle Foot to spring suddenly to his feet and start chasing them across our backyard. He was so infuriated with them that he whipped off the belt on his pants intending to beat their little butts big time. However, that was not to be because my uncle’s pants were much too big for him, and down they went to the ground. That was more than a foot in the mouth: It was Foot in dropped pants with lots of gasps ensuing.
So where am I going, huh? Actually this is a roundabout way into a vision I had in the middle of the night and a lead into two questions. My vision was simply of a lion and a lamb lying peacefully together and the lamb had the end part of the lion’s tail in his mouth. Now my questions are: “What do you have in YOUR mouth and are your pants on tightly secure with loins girt about with truth ?”
When we have the meek attributes of the lamb and the bold attributes of the lion established in balance within us, then we have our pants up, not down, and peace and righteousness are ours. This vision lets us know that it isn’t going to be done by something we do, but rather by the tail of the Lion of God, even His tale (His word/story) in our mouths. God will get all the glory then because it will be His doing the work through His Word, not through our self-effort.
The meek are the ones who inherit the earth having a humble and lowly nature, even the lamb’s nature, and because they are teachable, they acquire the lion’s nature of boldness and authority. Their end will come from the Word of God, even the King (the lion) in them as they declare their peace through their mouths.
In Isaiah 11: 6-9 it is written: “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the suckling child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters of the sea.”
I believe that before we can see this come to pass on earth, we must first have the beast nature subdued in us in such a state that we will do no harm. Our God has told us to labor into His rest, because it is only through rest that we can go on into perfection and Hallelujah, this encouraging vision is a revelation that the manifestation of our peace and perfection is at hand.
Truly, the end of a perfect man is peace because He has the Word of God in his mouth,…. NOT a foot!!
