“Independent” had had enough of herself – She was grossly deformed and was sick of being that way but didn’t know how to change – She was what she was.
Depression had set in and there was no one she knew that could help her because all on the earth were of the family of “Independence”- All were blind except for the seeing of their own and others’ deformities.
Alas! “Independent” knew “Submitted One” was to be her new name and that self-effort could not bring it about.
Long ago, her grandmother “Beauty for Ashes” had a breakthrough and her unrecognized wisdom was the key in the words given to her beloved grandchild:
“Shine like the sun, daughter of the King!… Shine! Shine! Shine!”
As “Independent” remembered the words of her grandmother “Beauty”, a little song came back to her mind and to her heart:
“This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine. This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine. This little light of mine I’m gonna let it shine, shine, shine!”
“Submitted One” shouted for joy! She was a latch key kid no more- She now was a parented one for the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were in her house. – The light had come!!”
